1. Connect the Compass appliance to where it has internet on it (set DNS as well) and the web UI can be accessed. It is recommended to use the front management port (IP address is 10.5.1.30/24) for connection to the appliance and to use one of the back 4 interfaces for internet connection ***NOTE: Be careful not to plug one of the back 4 ports into a Power over Ethernet (PoE) source

  2. Log into the Compass web UI by entering the IP address and select the cog wheel on the top right of the screen → Device

  3. Select NetworkPing → enter google.com in the text field and then select Ping . It will be able to install ZeroTier if there is 0% packet loss

  1. Open a terminal on Windows and enter in ssh vidterra@<Compass IP Address> , adding in the IP address appropriately. It will look like this if you are using the management port: ssh [email protected] and enter in the password

  2. Run sudo apt remove zerotier-one -y

  3. Run curl -s [<https://install.zerotier.com>](<https://install.zerotier.com/>) | sudo bash

  4. On the web interface select the cog wheel → SettingsNetwork tab, and then select the pencil icon next to Zerotier Enable . Enter in the ZeroTier network ID in and select Add

  5. Compass is now waiting for authentication from the ZeroTier network manager and must be approved to join the network. Once approved an interface will show up on Compass with the ZeroTier network
