Summary

The admin password of the web GUI can be changed in the :settings: Settings page of Compass. If this is changed and forgotten, then the user will be barred from the web GUI. The admin password for the web GUI is different than for the back end CLI (command line interface). This allows for the recovery of the web admin password if required.

There are two ways to accomplish this:

Procedure (Default Password)

• SSH into the CLI of Compass.
• Change directory to /opt/vidterra/compass
• run the resetAdminPw.sh script

Procedure (Custom Password)

• SSH into the CLI of Compass.
• Run the following command:
• Log into web GUI with the new password
