As of version 1.26.0519.1924 Compass now has firewall controls via the front end device page.

Overview

Compass comes standard with a generous firewall setup for ingesting video on a variety of ports. See Compass Ports and Protocols for a full list. There are times however where specific circumstances require use of ports outside of the default ranges.

Procedure

• SSH into the CLI of Compass.
• OPTIONAL Check the current firewall rules.
• Add a firewall rule as desired.
• Reboot the system to apply the rule.
• OPTIONAL Log back in and check to see if the firewall rule was successfully applied.

Adding firewall rules will not affect the range in which Compass will automatically detect and ingest video feeds.

UDP unicast streams directed at Compass outside of the 5000-5999 port range will need to be manually added using the udp://127.0.0.1:<port> URL.
