Groups are a way to show only a subset of videos in Compass to a custom login. A group is created by assigning a Video to a group name.

Groups can easily be accessed and filtered by the tabs at the top of the page.
One or more group users can be added to a group with a unique username and password. Group users are similar to the User and Editor profiles, but only see the videos that are assigned to that specific group.
A group user can be deleted from the group and will lose access to login to Compass. Group usernames are unique for the entire system, the same group username can be assigned to more than one group.
Groups can have API tokens which give the same level of access as a group user. The group token can only access the videos assigned to that group. The token is embedded with the group and user. If the user or group is deleted, the token will be invalid and no longer have access. See Group API Tokens for more information.

When a group is deleted or when all videos are removed, all group users will be deleted and all existing group tokens will fail to authenticate.
