Equipment Needed

First Time Setup

Ensure that the USB drive is attached to the Raspberry Pi, then apply power to the device.

On first boot the IP address of the ethernet address is 10.5.1.30/24 and is statically set to remain unless changed from the web GUI. To access the web GUI it is recommended that you:

  1. Statically set a computer NIC on the same network on the 10.5.1.30/24 network to directly manage OR
  2. Add a USB-A → Ethernet adapter to allow for a second interface on the Raspberry Pi

***NOTE: COMPASS PI does not use Network Manager along with some other services so refrain from downloading anything on the backend

HDMI Functionality

HDMI usage for COMPASS PI requires a micro-HDMI → HDMI adapter and can be useful for network troubleshooting. Use the first micro-HDMI port (the leftmost one) as the interface when attempting to get a display

Accessing the Web GUI

Once a connection to COMPASS can be established go into a browser and type in the IP address of COMPASS/Raspberry Pi and you will be prompted to login. After logging in, you will see the homepage of COMPASS

***FOR FULL COMPASS FUNCTIONALITY PLEASE REFER TO THE COMPASS USER GUIDE
